Home Learning

Home learning
At Normandale School we believe that:
Home Learning is a way of enhancing communication between home and school.
Home learning is an expectation, however it isn’t compulsory - practise and support from
home will assist your child with their learning.
The home learning sheet will be sent home on Monday and will be due back on Friday.
Our expectation is that reading, mathematics and spelling will form the basis for home learning.  However, at times, the students may be given an extra task or research based on the current topic.

Students are expected to read approx 10 minutes a day, practise some Maths knowledge and/or strategy and they will have their working with words.

In the seniors home reading is usually independent and the books are chosen from our school library, a book they have at home or from the local library.
Maths may be from the basic facts ladder, specific maths knowledge, using Mathletics, or
may be playing a card game. A generic copies can be seen below.
